The map keeps opening: RIBBON and INK

The Recovery Log — 049
Sunday 30 August 2026

We are going to be honest about the thing that is currently most true, which is that the map is opening faster than we can file it.

Two more fields have started to cohere, and we are naming them now even though their collections are still stabilising, because you deserve to see the edge of the work and not just the finished middle. RIBBON — its first recovery, Follow Me It's the Way, is close. INK — You Can't Escape Monday, and behind it another already forming. Both are early; both are coming rather than here; both are hypotheses we are not yet confident enough to frame properly. We will do them the same courtesy we did DEEPWELL: no overclaiming, confidence stated plainly, gaps left as gaps.

And GHOSTLIGHT is not done with us. There is a second recovery from that lamplit field on the bench — a keener's record, the other office we described: the women who do not soothe the spirits but address them, testimony built from whisper to a single cathartic scream, recovered from Vigil-season rooms with an effigy in every seat. It is called Get On The Bus, and it is coming.

A year ago we were four people who could not explain a name at a party. Now there are more timelines cohering than there are of us to catalogue them, and the honest feeling is not triumph, it is a kind of vertigo — the sense that we knocked on one door and a corridor opened. We are not going anywhere, still. But an awful lot appears to be coming to us.
